Lotus Notes
/ Case Study - Chase Manhattan
THE CHALLENGE
The Bank spent $200,000 a quarter on data publishing and distribution.
The viewer-base was 10,000 clients on the Bank's existing Sales & Marketing
Notes infrastructure. The system under review involved a four-tier paper
trail between authors, editors and reviewers. Was there a better way?
OUR LOTUS NOTES SOLUTION
Absolutely. The IMS system design allows authors, reviewers and editors
to access and process the data within the control of a workflow structure.
Finally it allows the end user to read the published on-line edition.
The
workflow swept away the existing four layered system. It maximizes staff
time and resources by ensuring only the correct people have access to
contribute, review and publish specific documents, at specific stages
in the lifecycle. New benefits included users being able to search through
current and historical data. The new search uses a powerful navigation
tool, which provides all relevant information via an intuitive browser
style interface using Lotus Notes. A specially designed template allows
documents to be edited and published at the touch of a button, by the
editing staff. Paper and distribution, and the $8,000 p.a. bill associated
with it are now firmly in the past at Chase Manhattan. The future is in
it's on-line accessible periodical and historic searchable archive.
