Brief Materials Development
Background
The
County of Nassau, Long Island, selected IMS to convert its charter from
a paper-based to an online format. This 1,500 page document is the operations
bible for all county administration, and was subject to numerous, ad hoc
revisions, involving high print and distribution costs. The proposed benefits
of an online edition were:
- Reduced production costs.
- Easier and less costly distibution, via the internet, to the County's
1.5 million residents.
- Increased accessibility through online indexing and searching.
Project Outline
IMS were required to develop an online editon that would best address
the above issues while maintaining 100% fidelity with the original charter.
