The Brief

The Department of Defence were anxious to bring their site in line with the international standards for accessibility defined by the Web Accessibility Initiative.

The Department approached IMS for this project due to their proven expertise in accessible web design.

The Project
IMS carried out an exhaustive audit on the site, checking for any graphical or design elements that might prove a barrier to access. Alternative content was added for all these items and markup was edited to provide a clear and simple structure for documents.

Result
The website was thoroughly tested using both automatic and manual checking. The site was then approved for compliance with Priority One of the WAI guidelines.
